What is Balm 2 Calm and what is the line for?
Balm 2 Calm is BulCanna's line of functional natural balms designed for topical application. The line includes Muscles & Joints Recovery Balm for muscle-joint discomfort after physical activity, and Skin Restoring Balm to soothe, hydrate and restore skin.
Both balms are formulated with hemp extract and all-natural ingredients. They are made without synthetic preservatives, parabens or artificial additives and meet European cosmetic safety requirements (CPNP notified).
The balms are suitable for daily use - after exercise, with dry or irritated skin, in the cold months or after sun exposure.
How do the two balms differ from each other?
Muscles & Joints Recovery Balm specifically targets muscles and joints. It contains camphor oil, lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus - ingredients with cooling and anti-inflammatory effects for muscle tension, soreness and discomfort after physical activity. Suitable for athletes and active people.
Skin Restoring Balm is a multifunctional balm for face, hands and body. Focused on soothing, hydrating and regenerating the skin - for inflammation, redness, dry and sensitive skin, after the sun and in cold months. Contains no cooling ingredients and is more suitable for sensitive skin.
The two products are not interchangeable - they have different ingredient profiles and different intended uses.
What does hemp extract do in conditioners?
Hemp extract in balms acts entirely topically - it does not enter the bloodstream in normal cosmetic use and does not cause any psychoactive effect. It acts directly in the area of application.
Cosmetic effects of hemp extract include: reducing visible signs of inflammation and redness, soothing irritated skin, antioxidant protection, and aiding skin cell regeneration. In Muscles & Joints balm, hemp extract is fortified with essential oils for a deeper relaxing effect.
EU cosmetics regulations do not allow medical claims. Balms are cosmetic products - not medicines and not medical devices.
Does Balm 2 Calm contain psychoactive substances?
No. Both balms in the Balm 2 Calm line contain hemp extract from industrial hemp from which the psychoactive substances have been removed. The products do not cause psychoactive effects and are completely legal in Bulgaria and the EU.
For use prior to sports competitions where doping tests are conducted, we recommend prior consultation with the responsible physician or federation. Although our products do not contain psychoactive substances, liability in official tests is individual.
Are conditioners suitable for sensitive skin?
Skin Restoring Balm is specially formulated for all skin types, including sensitive and irritation-prone skin. The formula is free from synthetic fragrances and harsh ingredients.
Muscles & Joints Recovery Balm contains camphor oil, eucalyptus and rosemary - ingredients with intense effects that can irritate very sensitive or reactive skin. For sensitive skin, we recommend patch testing a small area before full use and avoiding application to broken or cracked skin.
Can conditioners be used daily?
Yeah. Both products are designed for daily use. Muscles & Joints balm can be applied after each workout or as many times as needed. Skin Restoring Balm is suitable as a daily moisturizing and protective care.
There is no risk of habituation or reduced effect with prolonged use - the formulas are built on a natural basis without synthetic substances associated with these phenomena.
How do balms differ from a standard pharmacy analogue?
Standard pharmacy muscle and joint balms usually contain synthetic anti-inflammatory substances (NSAIDs) or artificial menthol compounds with a temporary cooling effect. Balm 2 Calm uses only natural ingredients - essential oils, vegetable oils and hemp extract - with no synthetic actives.
The difference is also in the approach: standard products mask the symptom; the natural ingredients in Balm 2 Calm work to support natural tissue repair. Natural products work more gradually, but without the unwanted effects of synthetic substances.
